Outlier Placements is a leading recruiter for private equity, venture capital and alternative asset investors. We are an Employment Agency under the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and as supplemented by later legislation including The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003.

Protecting your personal data is important to us.  This privacy policy explains how Outlier Placements processes and protects personal data for the following groups

        – Candidates and prospective candidates who register with us for job opportunities or whom we identify from public data sources such as LinkedIn, social media and other internet sources

 All groups can rely on us to keep their personal details confidential and to meet all obligations under data protection and privacy laws related to the UK and the EEA.

We’ll only share personal details with third parties with your permission. 

You have the right to modify or deactivate your data record or have your data removed from our database at any time by updating your Data Preferences.

Your Personal Data

Candidates and Prospective Candidates

When you register with us as a candidate, we collect the personal data that you volunteer to us whilst using our services, for example, when you apply to our roles online. We may also collect information from public sources such as LinkedIn, social media or internet searches. We use this data to identify you when we have employment opportunities that might be relevant for you.

The data we hold might include some or all of the following: your contact details, academic achievements, work history, skills, languages, nationality, working rights, age and gender. We will also hold compensation details if you have provided them to us, as well as notes and commentary made after meeting you. Additionally, we keep a record of our contact history with you including progress on roles that you have applied for or been selected for.

We retain the documents that you have provided to us such as your most recent CV, deal track-record, introductory letters, samples of written work and so on. We delete previous CVs that you might have provided to us. 

Where permitted by law we may also collect information relating to your health (for example disability information for workplace adjustment purposes) or diversity information including race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation and religion (for equal opportunity monitoring purposes).

When you are a prospective candidate, we collect personal data about you from publicly available sources such as LinkedIn, social media, internet searches or from a third party who recommends you to us.  We collect your personal data so that we can contact you if we think we have employment opportunities that you may be interested in and to track your progress on those employment opportunities.

We may also collect personal information if you use our website, reply to our job notifications, sign up to receive job alerts or request other content from us.  We use cookies and other similar third party software to collect some of this information – more details can be found on our cookie policy.

Clients and Suppliers

We may use your personal data to provide or offer to provide recruitment services to you, to survey your views on industry related matters, to ask you to participate in surveys including salary surveys, to share industry information with you, to seek your feedback on our services, to invite you to events and for other marketing purposes and to maintain our business relationship with you.   

Use And Processing of Your Personal Data

 Outlier Placements is the Data Controller for your personal data. Outlier Placements processes your personal data on the lawful basis of legitimate interest as a specialised recruiter for the private equity and private markets sectors.  Your data is stored on a secure, proprietary and confidential database which is only accessible by employees of the Outlier Placements Group of companies and its third party data processors and data partners.

By providing Outlier Placements with your personal data, you are giving your consent for Outlier Placements to identify you and contact you about roles that may be relevant to you, to provide recruitment services to you, to provide other marketing information such as industry news, invitations to events, participation in surveys and other marketing information. 

Your Rights

You have the right to access your data record, to challenge the data that we hold about you and have the data erased, rectified or amended. Upon written request, we will provide you with a readable copy of your data record, although we may require proof of your identity and we require 10 working days to provide the data.

You have the right to modify or deactivate your data record or have your data deleted at any time by updating your Data Preferences or contacting us at any time by email to info@outlier-placements.com 

Data Security and Integrity

We store your personal data on our secure, highly confidential database, which can only be accessed by employees of Outlier Placements and our third party data processors. All Outlier Placements employees and third party data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are contractually obliged to respect the confidentiality of your personal data.

We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorised modification and unlawful destruction or accidental loss.

We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to State institutions and authorities except if required by law or other regulation.

Outlier Placements would never send unsolicited emails asking you to disclose your username and password or other security details.

Sharing information within the Outlier Placements

Outlier Placements operates globally.  We may share or give access to your personal data to other companies both in the EEA and outside of the EEA.  The UK recognises that after it leaves the EU, countries in the EEA provide adequate protection for personal data.  Where we need to transfer personal data to or from Outlier Placements to a company outside the EEA we will comply with all local law transfer requirements.

Sharing Information With Our Clients

If you are a candidate or prospective candidate, we only share your personal information with clients with your consent.  Your consent is recorded on our database.

As well as seeking your consent, we will ask you to agree to keep any details we give you about our clients and roles confidential and not disclose the details to anyone else.

When we provide our clients with your personal data, we request that they properly protect the security, confidentiality and processing of your personal data in accordance with all applicable laws.

Sharing information with third parties

We may share your personal information with third parties for various purposes relating to your job application process, such as conducting online tests for example critical reasoning or psychometric profiling, or for data processing for direct mailing purposes.  We may share your information in aggregate and anonymous form for research, industry or marketing reports, statistical purposes or to learn how to improve our communication with our market.

We may share some of your personal information with LinkedIn through our customer relationship with LinkedIn Talent Integrations, for example your job title, work email address and job application data for the purposes of matching you with roles that may be relevant to you, or to provide recruitment services to you.

We will never sell or market your personal information for commercial purposes to any third party.

How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data

We keep your personal data for as long as is necessary to provide recruitment opportunities to you throughout your career or to comply with legal obligations.  Even if you only use our services when looking for a role every few years, we will continue to retain your information unless you ask us not to do so.
